Supporting Non-Binary Folks On-Set

Nonbinary people are being represented onscreen more than ever before, both as actors & characters! Here are some ways you as an #IntimacyCoordinator can show your support on set:

  1. Instead of asking "What are your preferred pronouns?" Ask "What are your pronouns?" This solidifies a person's chosen identity without leaving room for their choice being optional to other people.

  2. Advocate for actor input on costumes

  3. Gather & distribute resources of appropriate conduct and language to create a gender affirming space

  4. Consider hiring a consultant that specializes in gender expression

  5. Take a training in Gender & Sexuality

Let's make this a thread of suggestions! ⬇️ Leave your tips/resources in the comments ⬇️
