Have group sex scenes in film and tv sparked your curiosity? Here's everything that wasn't captured on camera...

Group Sex can mean a lot of different things! Some parties have specific themes, kinks, and/or fetishes they are centering, like trading partners, leather, D/S or even planned performances.

1. Setting Boundaries: It can sometimes feel awkward to talk logistics, but it will make for a better experience! It is crucial that everyone know their status before engaging in any play. It's important to remember that not all STI panels include the same thing, most of the time you need to explicitly ask for pharyngeal and rectal swabs!

2. Informed Consent: Though everyone should agree beforehand on what will occur in the broader sense, in the moment someone may change their mind, so always ask before beginning and during with check-ins.

3. Safety First: If you’re engaging in intercourse, make sure your partners change condoms each time they change partners (no “double” dipping). The easiest thing to do is to keep a bowl of condoms, dental dams, latex gloves, (and single-use packets of lube) in a bowl in the middle of the room.

4. Explore: There’s no “right” way to have group sex. Allow yourself to explore different activities and group configurations, and see what feels best for you in the moment. Remember to pace yourself, take breaks as needed.

5. After(self)care: Group play can and most likely will bring up a lot of different feelings. Regardless if you are attending a play party solo or with a partner make sure you spend time afterward focusing on your 5 senses. Aftercare agreements should also be discussed prior to the event.
