CINTIMA Scholarships Now Open: Apply for Our April Global Majority Scholarship

Representation in the film and media industry is not just about who we see on screen—it’s about who is behind the scenes shaping those narratives. At CINTIMA, we believe that authentic storytelling is impossible without diverse voices in intimacy coordination, directing, and performance. Yet, for far too long, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) creatives have faced systemic barriers to accessing professional training in these spaces.

We’re committed to breaking those barriers. That’s why we’re proud to offer the Global Majority Scholarship, a 50% tuition discount on our upcoming April programs. If you identify as part of the Global Majority, this is your chance to access specialized training designed to support your career in intimacy coordination and ethical storytelling.

Why Representation in Intimacy Coordination Matters

The film and television industry has long struggled with the ethical portrayal of intimacy, consent, and relationships. While the role of Intimacy Coordinators (ICs) has gained significant recognition in recent years, there remains a stark lack of diversity in the field. Here’s why it matters:

1. Cultural Competency Enhances Authentic Storytelling

Intimacy coordination is not just about choreographing scenes—it’s about ensuring that cultural nuances, sensitivities, and lived experiences are honored in storytelling. A diverse group of Intimacy Coordinators ensures that narratives reflect the communities they represent, rather than reinforcing stereotypes.

2. Addressing Systemic Barriers

For many BIPOC creatives, access to professional training remains a financial and logistical challenge. Historically, BIPOC professionals have been underrepresented in key roles such as intimacy coordination, leading to a lack of culturally competent professionals who can advocate for actors from marginalized backgrounds.

3. Ensuring Safety and Inclusivity On Set

Performers from diverse backgrounds often face unique vulnerabilities on set, particularly when it comes to navigating intimacy scenes. Having Intimacy Coordinators who understand these perspectives ensures that all actors feel safe, heard, and respected.

What the Global Majority Scholarship Covers

The Global Majority Scholarship is designed to provide greater accessibility to our intimacy coordination training program, equipping BIPOC creatives with the knowledge and skills necessary to advocate for ethical storytelling in film, television, and theater.

The scholarship includes:

  • 50% tuition discount on our upcoming April program.

  • Access to mentorship with industry professionals.

  • Entry into CINTIMA’s global network of intimacy professionals.

  • Opportunities for professional placement upon certification.

This is more than just a scholarship—it’s an investment in the future of diverse, ethical filmmaking.

Who Should Apply?

At CINTIMA, we use People of the Global Majority (PoGM) because globally, we are not the minority (85% of the world’s population is Black, Indigenous and Brown communities!). The term challenges white-centered narratives and affirms that our stories and perspectives deserve to lead—on-screen, behind the scenes, and beyond. We encourage applications from anyone who identifies as part of the Global Majority, including but not limited to:

  • Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)

  • Latinx and Afro-Latinx professionals

  • Asian, Pacific Islander, and South Asian professionals

  • Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) professionals

  • Any other marginalized racial or ethnic groups facing systemic barriers in the media industry
